The Alexandria office of a top national law firm, is seeking an electrical Patent Associate or Agent with a minimum of 3 years of experience and a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Candidates should have significant patent application drafting experience, and preferably with respect to computer implemented inventions.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, drafting patent applications, prosecution related documents, post grant review documents and opinion letters, as well as patent portfolio analysis and litigation support. Responsibilities may also include supervising patent agents and more junior associates. Candidates must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and admission to Virginia Bar preferred. The firm’s electrical patent work includes protecting inventions related to the full spectrum of electrical engineering, computer science, business methods, optics, nanotechnology and other areas of applied physics.
