My client, an international law firm, is seeking an experienced Patent Litigation Paralegal to provide case support in all phases of litigation including discovery, trial and appeal. Knowledge of the rules of civil procedure and familiarity with the local rules of various courts. Knowledge of and experience with e-discovery rules and document collection procedures. Case management and lead experience a must. Duties include drafting routine correspondence and litigation documents, preparing status reports, conducting electronic searches and researching technical references, patents and legal matters; assisting in due diligence searches and other intellectual property- related tasks as needed; and coordinating and managing large document collections and productions utilizing several litigation support database software. Experience with document review projects and drafting privilege logs. Position involves heavy contact with clients and requires an individual who is extremely detail oriented, organized, self-starter and able to work with little supervision.
Familiarity with MS Office suite, Westlaw, Lexis, USPTO databases, and intellectual property office databases required. Foreign intellectual property databases a plus. Bachelor's degree with strong academic background required.
The ideal candidate must have at least 5years of experience as an IP litigation paralegal support. Experience in a large firm or a respected boutique law firm a plus. Candidates who have helped support Patent trials, Markman hearings and/or mock-trials will be given considerable preference.
