Provide general support to the litigation attorneys and practice group engaged in busy commercial litigation law practice. In addition, this position will focus on cases requiring attention to detail and above average document management skills, extensive electronic knowledge, as well as good writing and communication skills. This is a fast paced, focused, professional office offering challenging work in a collegial atmosphere. Responsibilities include management of documents related to litigation, reviewing, prioritizing, drafting and analyzing case documents in the course of the Firm’s representation. Specific duties following:
- Conduct independent factual and legal research including Internet, Westlaw, Pacer and Courtlink research
- Knowledge of e-discovery software including Concordance, FYI, MA3000, IPRO and
- Adobe Full Version
- Document scanning and Bates Numbering
- Summarize and organize deposition digests
- Organize trial exhibits
- Create document indexes
- Attend depositions and court trials as necessary
- Knowledge of courts
- Calendar deadlines
- Organization and filing of litigation document productions
- Organize and maintain case files
- Troubleshooting any problems with Litigation Practice Group Leader
- Organize and manage litigation documents
- Basic document drafting
- Compile motions and other court papers
- Identify appropriate laws, judicial decisions, legal articles, and other materials that are relevant to assigned cases
- Additional tasks as assignment upon request
Ideal candidate will have the following abilities and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 plus years of legal experience as a paralegal in a law firm with an active litigation department
- Proficiency on Microsoft Word
- Exceptional computer and analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and track extensive detail
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with personnel
- Ability to work under stress
